The St. Louis Cardinals are hoping that the upcoming home stand against the San Francisco Giants will break the mini losing streak the team has had to endure over the past two outings against the Dodgers which pounded out a combined 15-1 ratio against the Cards. It won’t be easy especially as the team is facing their third no-hitter pitcher in the past five games putting major pressure on the Cards own pitching crew.
“To me, that’s what they should be begging for every day, these opportunities to come and match up against whoever the name is on the other side,” Manager Mike Matheny said. “That’s what our guys should be waiting for, an opportunity to square up against them.”
